We are committed to preserving Dunhuang's past and providing for its future.

The Foundation builds upon Dunhuang's rich legacy of intellectual and cultural exchange through programs that encourage participants to explore and expand upon the site's rich histories.

COLLABORATION

We work closely with institutions across the United States, Europe and Asia. Our relationship with the Dunhuang Academy is central to all we do.

CONSERVATION

We support the physical conservation of the Dunhuang caves through project-specific grants.

preservation

We are working with the Dunhuang Academy to realize a multi-year preservation strategy that will digitally archive the contents of each cave using state of the art imaging techniques. 

education

In the US, our programs and grantmaking activities seek to provide diverse perspectives on Dunhuang. We believe in engaging both scholars and the general public.

In China, we finance professional development opportunities for Dunhuang Academy staff members.
